Edukasi Marine Debris pada siswa SD di Desa Ponelo Kecamatan Ponelo Kepulauan

Abstract

Ponelo sebagai salah satu pulau yang terdapat di kabupaten Gorontalo Utara dengan jumlah penduduk yang cukup padat. Ponelo merupakan pulau yang terdekat dibandingkan pulau lain di sekitar Gorontalo Utara. Permasalahan yang dihadapi oleh masyarakat yang tinggal di Desa Pulau Ponelo yaitu kondisi pesisir pantai terlihat sangat kotor karena banyak sampah yang dibuang ke laut. Maryarakat di sekitar pesisir desa Ponelo membuang sampah rumah rangga pada lingkungan laut sehingga sampah menumpuk di pesisir pantai. Berdasarkan hal tersebut maka perlu dilakukan edukasi kepada siswa SD kelas 1 dan 2 melalui sosialisasi upaya pencegahan pencemaran laut. Solusi yang ditawrkan untuk menyelesaikan masalah tersebut yaitu dengan (1) melakukan sosialisasi kepada siswa SD kelas 1 dan 2 tentang  pendidikan bahari dengan memberikan informasi lebih pada perubahan pola pikir bahwa membuang sampah di laut merupakan prilaku yang sangat berbahaya bagi keberlangsungan hidup masyarakat bahari. Hal ini dilakukan untuk memotivasi siswa SD agar peduli terhadap lingkungan dan pola hidup sehat. Selain itu juga diberikan penyuluhan mengenai pentingnya menjaga kelestarian laut. (2) Melakukan kegiatan lomba mewarnai tentang kondisi laut yang bersih dan kotor untuk siswa SD agar mereka bisa membandingkan lingkungan yang bersih dan lingkungan yang kotor. (3) Melakukan kegiatan bersih pantai bersama siswa SD dan mahasiswa agar tercipta lingkungan yang bersih dan sehat.

The problem faced by the people who live in Ponelo Island Village is the condition of the coast looks very dirty because a lot of garbage is thrown into the sea. The community around the coast of the village of Ponelo disposed of household waste in the marine environment so that garbage piled up on the coast. Based on this it is necessary to educate elementary school students grade 1 and 2 through the socialization of efforts to prevent sea pollution. The solution offered to solve the problem is by (1) socializing to elementary school students grade 1 and 2 about marine education by providing more information on changing mindsets that disposing of garbage at sea is a very dangerous behavior for the survival of the maritime community. This is done to motivate elementary students to care about the environment and healthy lifestyle. In addition, counseling was also given regarding the importance of preserving the sea. (2) Conduct a coloring contest about the condition of clean and dirty sea for elementary students so that they can compare the clean environment and the dirty environment. (3) Conducting beach clean activities with elementary school students and students to create a clean and healthy environment.
