Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  • If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.

Author Guidelines

The Author's Guideline of Gorontalo Accounting Journal since the publication year of 2018

 

1. Introduction

Gorontalo Accounting Journal, with registration number ISSN 2614-2066 (online), ISSN 2614-2074 (print) is a scientific periodical published by Accounting Study Program Faculty of Economics, Universitas Gorontalo which is published twice a year in April and October. The purpose of publishing this journal is as a means of publication that can provide information for academics, government and the wider community regarding the development of accounting science. 

Online Gorontalo Accounting Journal was available since 1 April 2018 or since the release of Volume 1, Number 1, Year 2018. This journal was indexed in Indonesian Scientific Journal Database (ISJD) and Google Scholar. 2. How to Write the Title, the Name, and the Authors Address

of the Author The title of the manuscript is written above the first page with the text centered. Meanwhile, the author's name (without an academic degree), and the name of the institution, the address of the institution, the country must be written in centered text alignment also below the author's name. Authors must provide one space between the title and the author's name. Then, the space between Institution name, institution address, country and abstract title is one space. Keywords Maximum 3 Main Keywords. They must be arranged in alphabetical order and separated by a semicolon (;). 

The author in charge, the correspondent author, or the correspondent author must be written first and then followed by the second, third, and so on. Communication regarding the revision of the article and the final statement will be informed via email to the correspondent author only. If there is more than one author, the author's name is written separated by a comma (,). If the author's name consists of at least two words, the first name should not be abbreviated. If the author's name is only one word, then it must be written as is. However, in the online version it will be written in two words with the same name repeatedly for metadata indexing purposes.

3. The Manuscript General Guidelines

The manuscript text general guidelines are as follows:

1. The manuscript is the authentic research result that has not been published yet in other publication media or publishing houses. 

2. The manuscript is written in Indonesian or English with the following letters: Bookman Old Style;  size: 11; style: plain and typed 1 space between paragraphs, and setting 1 column.

3. Manuscripts are typed using Microsoft Word program on A4 paper, about 3000-8000 words including pictures, tables and references.

4. The manuscript does not contain any plagiarism element. The editorial board will directly reject the text that indicates plagiarism.We use plagiarism software to check your manuscript. 

5. Manuscripts that have been written based on the Gorontalo Accounting Journal guidelines (in MS Word format, use this article template) must be submitted via the Online Submission System using the Open Journal System (OJS) on the Gorontalo Accounting Journal E-journal portal 

(https://jurnal. unigo.ac.id/index.php/gaj) choose only one procedure. Then, register as one of the author or reviewers in the Register bottom. 

6. The manuscript article writing guidelines and template can be downloaded. The template and the guidelines of the article writing are available in MS Word (.doc) format. 

7. Manuscripts for online submissions can be found in the online submission guidelines section below. 

8. Manuscripts that do not comply with the Gorontalo Accounting Journal writing guidelines will be returned to the author prior to the review process. 

9. Manuscripts must contain several aspects of scientific articles as follows: (subtitles in order), namely: (a) title of article, (b) name of author (without academic degree), (c) name of institution, address of institution, country, (d) ) author's email (e) abstract and keywords, (f) introduction, (g) research methods, (h) results and discussion, (i) conclusions and suggestions, (j) acknowledgment (optional), (k) the references. 

10. The subtitles contained in the discussion section (Introduction, Methods, Results and Discussion, as well as Conclusions and Suggestions) should not be numbered. Subtitles are written in bold format. 

11. Words from foreign languages or foreign languages are written in Italic format. 12. Tables and figures are placed in the text group after the referenced table or figure. Each image must be given a description and source (Image Caption) below the image and numbered followed by the image title. Each table must be given a table title (Table Caption) and numbered above the table followed by the table title and source below the table. Image attachments must be guaranteed to be printed properly in black and white ink (font size, resolution and line spacing are clearly visible). Figures, tables, and charts should be centered between groups of text. If it has a larger size, it can be placed in the center of the page. Tables should not contain vertical lines, while horizontal lines are only allowed for important points. 

4. The Guidelines for the Manuscript Body Text

Title: The title must be informative and written briefly and clearly. Cannot have multiple interpretations. It must be appropriate to the problem to be discussed. The initial word is written in capital letters and is symmetrical. Article titles do not contain unusual abbreviations. The main idea should be written down first and followed by an explanation. Article titles are written in a maximum of twenty words, Bookman Old Style size of 14pt, with bold choices and in centered text format. 

Abstract: Abstract must not be more than 200 words, in one paragraph without references (bibliography) without abbreviations/acronyms, and without footnotes. Abstract is written not in the form of mathematics, questions, and conjectures. Abstract contains only: research objectives, analysis techniques and results.

Introduction: The introduction must contain the background on the issue or problem as well as the urgency and rationalization of the activity (research). Describe the justification for why this research needs to be done and what makes this paper unique from the previous ones. The problem to be researched must be clearly formulated along with approaches and concepts to answer the problem, test hypotheses or allegations to be proven. In the formulation of the problem, the assumptions, and the scope of the research limitations can be explained. The activity objectives and problem-solving plans are presented in this section. Relevant literature review and hypothesis development (if any) are included in this section. 

Methods: Methods describe how research is conducted, including research design, data collection, research instruments and analytical methods. This part must be told. 

Results and Discussion: This section consists of the results of the research and the method of discussion. The results obtained from the research must be supported by adequate data. Research results and findings must be answers or research hypotheses or research questions that have been stated previously in the introduction. 

Conclusions and Suggestions: This is the last section which contains conclusions, limitations and recommendations. Conclusions will be answers to hypotheses or research questions, research objectives and research findings. Conclusions should not only contain repetition of results and discussion. Must be a summary of research results as expected by the author in the research objectives or hypotheses. Research limitations and recommendations contain deficiencies in the research and suggestions related to further ideas of the research. 

Acknowledgment: Authors can give appreciation and acknowledgment to parties who help fund research (Not Mandatory). 

References: All the references that used in the article must be listed in this part. In this part, all the used references must be taken from primary sources (scientific journals and the least number is 80% from all the references) that published in the last ten years. Each article must have at least ten references and cite Gorontalo Accounting Journal articles, at least 1 article.

5. The Guidelines for the Citations and References

All the served data or quotes in the article taken from the other author articles should attach the reference sources. The references should use a reference application management such as Mendeley, End Note, or Zotero. The writing format that used in Gorontalo Accounting Journal follows the format applied by APA 7th Edition(American Psychological Association). 

6. The Online Submission Manuscript Guidelines

The manuscript text must be submitted by one of two systems (s the econd procedure is more preferable):

1. Documents must be submitted by the Online Submission System in Gorontalo Accounting Journal. E-journal portal HERE

2. Firstly, the author should register as either an author or reviewer (checking role as author or reviewer) in the Register or HERE.

3. After the registration step is completed, log in as an author, click in New Submission. The article submission stage consists of five stages, such as: (1). Start, (2). Upload Submission, (3). Enter Metadata, (4). Upload Supplementary Files, (5). Confirmation.

4. In the Start column, chose Journal Section (Full Article), check all the checklists.

5. In the Upload Submission Columns, upload the manuscript files in MSWord format in this column.

6. In the Enter Metadata columns, fill in with all the author data and affiliation. Including the Journal Title, Abstract and Indexing Keywords.

7. In the Upload Supplementary Files columns, the author is allowed to upload supplementary files, the statement letter, or any other else.

8. In the Confirmation columns, if the data you entered are all correct already, then click Finish Submission.
