Focus and scope
Gorontalo Development Review (GDR) is a peer-reviewed scientific journal published by the Department of Development Economics, Faculty of Economics, Universitas Gorontalo. The journal serves as a publication forum for conceptual articles, literature reviews, and empirical research addressing issues in regional, urban, and applied economic development.
GDR focuses on advancing knowledge in the following fields:
- Regional and Urban Economics — covering regional growth, economic agglomeration, and spatial disparities across areas.
- Development Planning — encompassing the formulation and evaluation of development strategies at both national and regional levels.
- Economic Demography — examining population dynamics, migration, employment, and their impacts on the economy.
- Public Policy and Regional Development — focusing on fiscal policy analysis, decentralization, and local governance.
- International Trade Economics — covering exports and imports, global competitiveness, and value chain integration.
- Maritime Economic Development — exploring the potential of the marine and fisheries sectors as strategic drivers of development.

All articles published in GDR undergo a double-blind peer review process. Decisions regarding manuscript acceptance rest solely with the Editorial Board, based on recommendations from peer reviewers. Manuscripts that do not comply with the journal's author guidelines and specified formatting requirements will be returned to the authors prior to the review stage. The journal is registered with CrossRef under the DOI prefix 10.32662.
