Author Guidelines
for Gorontalo Public Health Research
Gorontalo Public Health Research (GPHR) is a peer-reviewed, open-access scientific journal managed by the Postgraduate Program of Public Health Sciences, Universitas Gorontalo. The journal publishes high-quality research articles, literature reviews, and conceptual papers in the field of public health.
Focus and Scope
The journal welcomes manuscripts related to, but not limited to:
- Epidemiology
- Biostatistics
- Health Promotion and Education
- Environmental Health
- Occupational Health and Safety
- Health Policy and Administration

Manuscript Preparation Guidelines
1. Language
Manuscripts must be written in clear and concise English. Authors whose first language is not English are encouraged to have their manuscripts professionally proofread before submission.
2. Originality
Submitted manuscripts must be original works that have not been previously published and are not under consideration by another journal.
All manuscripts will undergo plagiarism screening before peer review.
3. Article Template
Authors are required to use the official GPHR article template.

Manuscript Structure
The manuscript should be arranged in the following order:
- Title
- Author(s) Name and Affiliation
- Abstract
- Keywords
- Introduction
- Methods
- Results
- Discussion
- Conclusion
- Acknowledgment (optional)
- References
4. Title
The title should be concise, informative, and not exceed 20 words.
5. Abstract
The abstract should:
- Be written in English
- Contain 150–250 words
- Include background, objective, methods, results, and conclusion
- Avoid citations and abbreviations
Provide 3–5 keywords below the abstract.
6. Formatting Requirements
- Paper size: A4
- Margins: 2.5 cm on all sides
- Font: Times New Roman
- Font size: 12 pt
- Line spacing: 1.5
- Text alignment: Justified
7. Tables and Figures
- Tables and figures must be numbered consecutively.
- Each table and figure must include a title and source (if applicable).
- Use high-resolution images.
- Avoid duplication between tables and figures.
8. References
GPHR uses the APA citation style (7th Edition).
Authors are encouraged to use reference management software such as:
- Mendeley
- Zotero
- EndNote
At least 80% of references should come from scientific journals published within the last 10 years.
9. Ethical Considerations
Research involving human participants must include:
- Ethical clearance information
- Informed consent statement
- Name of ethics committee/institution
10. Submission Process
Authors must submit manuscripts through the online journal system (OJS) available at:
Authors should register as an Author before submitting their manuscripts.
11. Peer Review Process
All submitted manuscripts will undergo a double-blind peer review process. The editorial board reserves the right to accept, reject, or request revisions for submitted manuscripts.
12. Publication Frequency
GPHR publishes issues periodically according to the journal schedule determined by the editorial board.
