Abstract

TThis study aims to determine the effect of the number of the workforce on the absorption of labor in Gorontalo Regency, the effect of the human development index on employment in Gorontalo Regency, the simultaneous effect of the number of the workforce and the human development index on employment in Gorontalo Regency. The result of the research is that the Gorontalo Regency Government has a relatively large number of workforce. The large number of the workforce in Gorontalo Regency shows that this area has quite a number of residents who are of productive age where they must be encouraged by the local government to have jobs and from the analysis it is obtained that the number of the workforce has a positive and significant effect on employment. in Gorontalo Regency. The Gorontalo Regency Government was able to increase the Human Development Index (IPM) from the lower middle category to the upper middle category and from the analysis it was found that the HDI had a positive and significant effect on employment in Gorontalo Regency.
