Peer Review Process

JEMAI: Jurnal Ekonomi, Manajemen, dan Akuntansi follows a rigorous and transparent peer review process to uphold the quality, integrity, and credibility of published articles. The journal adopts a double-blind peer review system, in which the identities of authors and reviewers are concealed from each other throughout the review process. This approach ensures a fair, objective, and unbiased evaluation of manuscripts while maintaining high academic standards. Each submission is assessed for originality, relevance, methodological rigor, and contribution to the field of accounting before a final publication decision is made.

Submission and Initial Evaluation

Upon submission, every manuscript undergoes an initial evaluation by the editorial team. This evaluation focuses on the manuscript’s relevance to the journal’s scope, compliance with submission guidelines, and overall academic quality. Manuscripts that meet the journal’s requirements are assigned a unique identification number and proceed to the peer review stage.

Peer Review

JEMAI: Jurnal Ekonomi, Manajemen, dan Akuntansi operates a double-blind review policy, in which the identities of authors are not disclosed to reviewers and the identities of reviewers are not disclosed to authors. Authors are required to present their work honestly and ethically, without fabrication, falsification, plagiarism, or inappropriate data manipulation. Submitted manuscripts are evaluated by anonymous reviewers based on their scientific contribution, originality, relevance, and clarity of presentation. Each manuscript is reviewed by at least two independent reviewers, who may be members of the editorial board or external experts with relevant expertise. The Editor will notify authors of the review outcome within a maximum period of eight weeks. Editorial decisions are final, and all correspondence, including editorial decisions and requests for revisions, is conducted via email.

Review Criteria

Reviewers are asked to evaluate manuscripts based on the following criteria:

  • Scientific Quality: The soundness of the research design and methodological rigor
  • Originality: The extent to which the manuscript contributes new knowledge to the field of accounting
  • Relevance: The alignment of the manuscript with the journal’s aims and scope
  • Clarity of Presentation: The organization, clarity, and coherence of the manuscript
  • Ethical Standards: Compliance with ethical principles in research, authorship, and publication

Reviewers are encouraged to provide constructive feedback, highlighting areas for improvement and suggesting ways to enhance the manuscript’s quality, clarity, and academic contribution.

Review Duration

JEMAI: Jurnal Ekonomi, Manajemen, dan Akuntansi strives to complete the peer review process within a maximum period of eight weeks. Authors will be notified of any changes to this timeline during the review process or following major revisions.

Decision and Revision

After receiving reviewers’ comments, the editorial team evaluates the feedback and informs authors of the decision regarding their manuscript. Possible decisions include acceptance without revision, acceptance with minor revisions, acceptance with major revisions, or rejection. If revisions are requested, authors are expected to address all reviewers’ comments carefully and resubmit the revised manuscript within the specified timeframe.

Editorial Decision

The final decision on manuscript publication is made by the Editor-in-Chief in consultation with the editorial board, taking into account reviewers’ assessments and ethical considerations.

Confidentiality

JEMAI: Jurnal Ekonomi, Manajemen, dan Akuntansi maintains strict confidentiality throughout the peer review process. Reviewers and editors are required to treat all submitted manuscripts and their contents as confidential and must not share or discuss them with any party outside the review process.
