Abstract

This study examines the effect of training needs and employee benefits on employee performance at a public junior high school in Dungaliyo, Gorontalo Regency. Employee performance in a school setting depends on how well teaching and administrative staff are prepared, which is shaped by training that matches actual job demands and by benefits that are fair and delivered on time. The population consisted of thirty five employees, and a census technique was used so that the entire population served as the sample. Data were collected through a structured questionnaire on a five point scale and analyzed using multiple linear regression with statistical software. Before hypothesis testing, the instrument was checked for validity and reliability, and the regression model was tested for normality, linearity, multicollinearity, heteroscedasticity, and autocorrelation. Results show that training needs and benefits each have a positive and significant partial effect on employee performance, and together the two variables produce a significant simultaneous effect that explains almost all of the variation in performance. Training needs contribute the strongest influence. These findings suggest that schools should design training programs based on an accurate assessment of competency gaps and manage benefit policies fairly to sustain continuous improvement in employee performance.
