Abstract

ABSTRAK

Keberhasilan penanaman pada lahan kritis memiliki kaitan erat dengan pengadaan bibit berkualitas baik karena akan menghasilkan tegakan yang baik. Mutu bibit merupakan ekspresi yang digunakan untuk menggambarkan kemampuan bibit untuk beradaptasi dan tumbuh setelah penanaman. Penentuan standar mutu bibit didasarkan pada uji mutu bibit baik morfologi maupun fisiologis yang dihubungkan dengan keberhasilan bibit setelah ditanam di lapangan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menyediakan informasi mengenai uji coba yang terukur dan praktis terhadap pertumbuhan bibit dengan mutu bibit Acacia mangium dan Falcataria falcata sesuai kriteria SNI 01-5006.1-2005. Penelitian dilakukan di Persemaian BPDAS Ciatarum-Ciliwung Darmaga Bogor. Bahan yang digunakan yaitu 100 bibit Acacia mangium dan 100 bibit Falcataria moluccana menggunakan media campuran arang sekam, cocopeat, dan top soil dengan perbandingan 1:1:1. Penilaian terhadap mutu fisik dan fisiologi bibit terdiri dari dua syarat yang harus dipenuhi, yaitu syarat umum (berbatang tunggal, lurus, sehat, dan pangkal batangnya harus sudah berkayu); dan syarat khusus (kekompakan media, tinggi bibit, diameter batang bibit, jumlah daun, warna daun,umur bibit, dan kesehatan bibit dari gangguan hama dan penyakit). Dari kedua pengujian dinyatakan lulus uji karena memenuhi kriteria ambang batas toleransi sehingga menunjukkan bahwa pengelolaan persemaian sudah cukup baik.


ABSTRACT

The success of planting on degraded land is closely related to the provision of good quality seedlings because it will produce good stands. Seed quality is an expression used to describe a seeds’ ability to adapt and grow after planting. The seed quality standard's determination is based on the morphological and physiological tests of the seed quality, which are related to the seedlings' success after planting in the field. This study aims to provide information on measurable and practical trials of seedling growth with seed quality of Acacia mangium and Falcataria falcata according to the SNI 01-5006.1-2005 criteria. The research was conducted at the BPDAS Ciatarum-Ciliwung Darmaga Nursery, Bogor. The materials used were 100 Acacia mangium seeds and 100 Falcataria falcata seeds using a mixture of husk charcoal, cocopeat, and topsoil in a ratio of 1: 1: 1. Assessment of the physical quality and physiology of the seedlings consists of two conditions that must be met, namely general requirements (single trunk, straight, healthy, and the base of the stem must be woody); and special requirements (compactness of media, seed height, diameter of seed stems, number of leaves, leaf color, age of seeds, and health of seeds from pests and diseases). The two tests declared that they had passed the test because they met the tolerance threshold criteria, thus indicating that the nursery management was good enough.
